Students who pursue a Minor in History at Kent State University gain valuable insights and critical thinking skills that enhance their primary fields of study. This interdisciplinary background opens doors to diverse career paths, including roles in education, journalism, public relations, and cultural organizations. Graduates can apply their historical knowledge as research assistants, museum guides, or heritage site coordinators, while also finding opportunities in law, business, and government where analytical and communication skills are essential. The minor enriches their understanding of the past, making them well-rounded candidates in a competitive job market.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
