Internships

History majors and minors can participate in an internship while completing their degrees.

These internships introduce students to the idea of public history and the possibility of careers in a wide range of fields. Students can participate in an internship after completing at least two survey history courses and one upper division course.

Students are required to arrange their placements and supervisors with the help of one of the Department’s Internship Coordinators.

History majors and minors at the Kent Campus should contact Dr. Matthew Crawford, Associate Professor of History, at mcrawf11@kent.edu.

History majors and minors at the regional campuses should contact Dr. Leslie Heaphy, Associate Professor of History, at: lheaphy@kent.edu or (330) 224-3304.

For student seeking course credit, their internship must be approved by the appropriate internship coordinator before the student begins the internship. Assessment will be based on both academic and professional criteria
