Luke Armour
Biography
Luke Armour is a senior lecturer at Kent State University's School of Media and Journalism, teaching primarily in the public relations sequence. He teaches undergraduate and graduate classes such as PR Case Studies, PR Tactics, Digital PR, Social Media Strategies, and Principles and Practices in Digital Media. At MDJ, Luke serves as the co-chair of MDJ's Diversity and Globalization Committee, the Chair of the YouToo Social Media Conference, and as a member of CCI's Diversity Committee.
Luke also serves as the coordinator of Flash Communications, University Communications and Marketing's student-PR agency. At Flash Comm, Luke manages students who work side-by-side with professionals to craft stories for internal and external clients and publications like Kent State Today, staff university events, and manage branding for Flash Comm.
Prior to joining Kent State University, Luke worked in the digital practice group at Fleishman-Hillard, one of the world’s leading strategic communications firms. At Fleishman, Luke managed social media, mobile and web project development, and podcasting for a variety of consumer, state and healthcare clients. Luke has served as a PR coordinator for BlogTalkRadio, an online citizen-broadcasting network, and a PR account executive at Innis Maggiore, in Canton, Ohio.
Hailing from Pennsylvania, Luke moved to Ohio in 2004, where he earned a master's degree in Communications from The University of Akron after spending a year in central Alaska. He is an avid hockey enthusiast and musician.
