Schedule a Visit
Students interested in studying in the School of Media and Journalism at Kent State can select one of the prospective student visit options offered below, including Walk and Talks through Franklin Hall, home of our award-winning Student Media, as well as our many studios and learning spaces. These visits give students and parents the opportunity to learn about all four Media and Journalism undergraduate majors in a small-group setting.

Tour our incredible spaces
Join us to tour our creative spaces, our classrooms and our production and broadcast studios at Franklin Hall. Learn how we teach our students to harness the power of storytelling to create news stories, multimedia stories, your client’s story and short and long-form filmmaking. See our award-winning Student Media where students can start on day one of their first year, gaining invaluable hands-on experience, creating a portfolio of professional quality work and making friendships and connections to last a lifetime.
These sessions are available all year, scheduled at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesdays.
For parking on the day of your Walk and Talk Tour:
- Download and print your parking pass.
- Place it on your dashboard the day of your visit, OR -
- You can stop in the MDJ office (204 Franklin Hall, 550 Hilltop Avenue) the day of your visit and pick up a parking pass that we will provide for you to place on your dashboard

CCI Visits
The College of Communication and Information hosts visits/tours specific to its eight undergraduate majors, which includes the School of Media and Journalism's advertising, digital media production, journalism and public relations majors.

The tour of Franklin Hall lasts around one hour. When you arrive, park on R-1 (link below) and come to our main office (204) on the second floor to collect your parking pass.
