Kent State University's Division of Research and Economic Development offers several options for discovering external funding opportunities.

Pivot

The PIVOT database allows you to search for funding opportunities based on your discipline and interest.

Instructions for Using PIVOT

1. Go to https://pivot.proquest.com/

2. Sign in or create an account

3. After you sign in, you will see the dashboard page https://pivot.proquest.com/dashboard

4. Choose “Funding”

5. Choose “Advanced Search”

6. Type keywords of your discipline and interest: (Examples: “Fashion,” “Sustainability,” “Ecology”)

Limited Submission Opportunities

Limited submission opportunities are programs that limit the number of applications an organization is allowed to submit in response to a particular program announcement. Sponsors may impose restrictions on the number of submissions per institution, school and/or discipline. When such limitations are stipulated in program guidelines, an internal review and selection process may be necessary to select the best-qualified candidate or proposal to represent Kent State University.

Funding Agency Events and Archival Sites

There are sites to get information of archived and new workshops in the following places. The College of Arts and Sciences has held different events, workshops, and archived them on the College website. The National Endowment for the Arts and Fulbright Scholar Program have their own archived sites.

Virtual workshops or conferences hosted by funding agencies can provide broad introductory information about topics such as mission, priorities, opportunities, and the application and review process or more focused information about a specific opportunity. Recordings of these events are often posted for those unable to attend the live event.
