Kent State University at East Liverpool is preparing for its annual Earth Day Environmental Justice Conference including guest speakers, student presentations and information focused on environmental issues. Admission to the conference is free and all students are encouraged to participate. The event will be held April 20 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Purinton Hall located at 400 E. Fourth Street East Liverpool, OH 43920. You can also attend the event virtually via TEAMS.
This year's theme is The Impact of World Conflicts and Wars on the Environment.
Each participant submitting an essay or poster will be highlighted in the program if registered by noon - April 15.
Prizes
Students from each session will be eligible to win prizes: $150 for first place; $100 for second place; and $50 for third place. Door prizes will also be available.
Those who register on time and present their work during the conference will earn a certificate.

Essays
- Include a cover sheet with name, title and identifying information.
- One-page statements (minimum of 150 to 400 words)
- Full essays should be up to ten pages

Posters
- Must be self-standing, tri-fold (36 inches x 48 inches)
- Due the day of the conference, April 20
- Set up in the 1st floor hall between 10:30-11 a.m. the day of the conference
- May also be mailed to Dr. Lydia Rose at 400 E. Fourth St., East Liverpool, Ohio
- Mailed posters must be received by 5 p.m., April 19
PowerPoint
- Intent to submit a PowerPoint presentation is due April 15
- Presentations should be five to 15 slides
- Save Your Presentation to a USB and bring it to the conference
