Kent State Geauga Student Selected as CCI Sichuan Scholar

Kent State Geauga student Maxwell Warner will join a legacy of College of Communication and Information Sichuan Scholars this June, when he attends a two-week cultural exchange program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.

The cultural exchange program is offered through Kent State University's Education Abroad-Office of Global Education. Entry is competitive. "Max just showed such great initiative in applying," said Stephanie Smith, Assistant Professor and Director of Global Initiatives, College of Communication and Information. CCI Sichuan Scholars attend university classes in Chengdu on scholarship.

Max describes being accepted to the program as a bit of a dream come true: "Having a major in Sociology, this experience is going to benefit my career goals because I will get to observe the social activities of a different society. In addition, my minor in Photojournalism will enable me to embrace the powerful meaning of art and scenery in China. Words can not even describe how excited I am for this trip!"

You can follow Max and his fellow CCI Sichuan Scholars this spring on the CCI Sichuan Scholars Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CCIinChengdu/.
