In 1990, Kent State Geauga Campus began offering workforce development courses to the Crysler Plant in Twinsburg, Ohio. Demand for courses continued to grow through the '90s which allowed Kent State Geauga to develop a second location at the "old school" in Twinsburg, at the intersection of SR 91 and 82. In 2012, Kent State built a brand new facility to offer two and four-year degrees to the community, then known as the Regional Academic Center (RAC). Finally, in 2020, the RAC's name was officially changed to the Twinsburg Academic Center to better reflect the community in which it serves. The Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center offer over 20 associate and bachelor's degrees at a fraction of the cost of a four-year public institution.
