Katherine Rawson, associate professor of psychology, was named among the nationwide winners of this year's Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). This presidential award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers.
Dr. Rawson is currently the recipient of a research grant funded by the Department of Education, that develops and evaluates a cognitive intervention to improve the durability and efficiency of students’ learning of key concepts from course materials. Dr. Rawson's goal in this research is to help teachers in supporting students’ learning of key concepts in a manner that supports long-term retention. This work is being conducted in collaboration with John Dunlosky and KSU's Research Center for Educational Technology.
