This program is designed for beginner hockey players, ages 5 – 11 years old, who want to learn the fundamentals of hockey without making a full season commitment or purchasing full equipment. Children must complete a Hockey Prep or Basic 1 Learn to Skate program before enrolling into LTPH. The following skills will be taught on a regular basis: stick handling, puck control, passing, shooting, and skating skills. Full equipment is encouraged. Free rental hockey equipment is available and can be checked out per set. The format of the class is as follows: 40 minutes of instruction followed by 10 minutes of specific organized games to further develop the skills taught during class.
The following equipment is required:
We do not advise wearing equipment big enough “to grow into” – proper fitting equipment will ensure your child’s safety, comfort, and ease of movement on the ice.
Dates and Times: Sundays, Jan. 5 - Feb. 23 from 9 - 9:50 a.m.
Cost: $185
The KSU Ice Arena is home to the men’s KSU Club Hockey Division 1 and Division 3 teams. Check out their website at www.kentsthockey.com for more information about the program, ticket sales, and prospective recruits.
