Global Education Initiatives

GLOBAL EDUCATION INITIATIVES

The Office of Global Education Initiatives is responsible for advising international students and scholars, advising students interested in Study Abroad, and overseeing all education-abroad initiatives and international partnerships at Kent State University at Stark.

As the liaison with the Office of Global Education at the Kent Campus, the Office of Global Initiatives also connects domestic and international students with excellent services and support.

Assistant Director, Global Education Initiatives

Sarah Schmidt is the Assistant Director for Global Education Initiatives at Kent State University at Stark. Sarah holds a master’s degree in Ethics, Peace and Global Affairs from American University, Washington, D.C. Her passion for international social justice has led her to speak at conferences and seminars in Washington, Oxford, London and Prague; she has advocated for refugees in the Middle East, partnered with schools and universities in Haiti, and traveled throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Arabian Gulf learning language and culture to further her understanding of Human Rights issues. Before her work at Kent State, Sarah served as the program coordinator of the Mohammed Said Farsi Chair of Islamic Peace at American University.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORGANIZATION (ISO)

Kent State Stark's International Student Organization (ISO) is a place for international and domestic students to engage and share in differing cultures and experiences.
