Commencement Ceremonies Held on Salem Campus

Caps and GownsCommencement ceremonies were held May 13 for the Kent State Salem Campus. Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of the Kent State Columbiana County Campuses, presided over the event, along with Dr. Celeste Oprean, assistant dean for the Salem Campus.

Students speakers Devyn Rothbrust and Lisa KessegThe keynote speaker was Rep. Timothy Ginter, State Representative for the 5th Ohio House District.

Student speakers included Lisa Kesseg of the Insurance Studies program and Devyn Rothbrust of the Horticulture program.

Nearly 400 degrees were awarded this semester between the Kent State Salem and East Liverpool campuses.All Smiles

In the meantime, she found a way to help her fellow nursing students fund their educational journeys: a golf outing.

On one of the hottest days this summer – with temperatures hovering in the high 90s – Lisa Vittorio and her Sunshine Team set up shop near the Kent State East Liverpool Campus and welcomed dozens of local kids to board the Sunshine Bus as they prepared to head back to school.

Healthcare professionals trained in other countries often find that they need additional training before they are permitted to practice in the United States. For foreign-trained physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, Kent State University provides a way to bridge that gap.
