East Liverpool Nursing Students Give Back to Community

East Liverpool Nursing Students Share Holiday Cheer

Studying for final exams wasn’t the only thing keeping nursing students busy on the East Liverpool Campus in recent weeks. The students also took time from their studies to help others from the community enjoy the holidays.

Photo A:The Student Nurses Association at Kent State University East Liverpool spearheaded a project to help provide gifts for 105 local children through the Salvation Army. Nursing students, faculty and staff participated in the outreach effort. They also collected hats, scarves, mittens and gloves.

Student nurses from two clinical classes taught by Angela Douglass, senior lecturer, hosted a party for the residents they cared for this semester at the Assumption Village extended care facility in North Lima. The party included bingo, prizes, snacks and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
