Kent State University at East Liverpool held its annual nursing pinning ceremony May 11, during which 27 students were recognized for receiving degrees through the associate degree in nursing (ADN) program.
Dr. Carol Hrusovsky, academic program director of the ADN program, presented student awards, including the Ohio Nurses Association District 3 Lori Grenich Student Nurse Award to Alexandria Harman. This award recognizes excellence in clinical nursing and professional awareness.
Latasha Merchant received the ADN Academic Award for highest GPA; Lauren Plunkett received the ADN Service Award and Jordan McGuire received the Outstanding ADN Student Award.
Merchant was also inducted into the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society by Marvine’ Brown, associate lecturer and faculty advisor.
The Student Nurses Association officers included Carsyn Hoppel, Mason Morris, Lauren Plunkett and Brittany Soltis.
