Medline & Interlibrary Loans
MEDLINE
MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) is a database produced and maintained by the U.S. National Library of Medicine that focuses on medicine, life sciences, and health care. This database provides over 22 million citations to articles from over 4,000 journals and other materials. Some of these citations offer links to full-text articles. Articles from the 1940s to the present can be found by searching this database. MEDLINE searches can be performed by using MEDLINE, MEDLINE Complete (EBSCO), PubMed, or Ovid. Please contact the librarian if you need assistance with MEDLINE searches.
MEDICAL JOURNAL ARTICLES
Sometimes citations found in a database do not include a link to accessing the full-text articles online. However, the articles can be retrieved in another way. Please contact the librarian for assistance in obtaining the articles.
INTERLIBRARY LOANS
Requesting a journal article via interlibrary loan is a way to get articles not found in the databases or the journals in the library's collection. Kent State University Libraries provides an interlibrary loan service to obtain journal articles. Please visit their interlibrary loan website for information about this service and to order journal articles.
