Biography
Kasey Ray is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Justice Studies at the Kent State University Geauga campus and Twinsburg Academic Center. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Akron, specializing in Inequality and Deviance. Dr. Ray’s research focuses on social class, spatial inequalities, and welfare participation. Her most recent publication (with Dr. Tiffany Taylor and Dr. Elizabeth Seale) is “Welfare and the Culture of Conservatism: A Contextual Analysis of Welfare-to-Work Participation in North Carolina” Journal of Poverty, 2017.
