The Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor with multimedia journalism skills, teaching experience and the ability to help lead curricular change as our school evolves to meet the media needs of the 21st Century.
Candidates should have at least a master’s degree and significant experience in digital journalism. They must have strong industry credentials and a body of work demonstrating written, visual and editing skills on multiple platforms, including video, audio, print and online.
Special preference will be given to those who have strong storytelling skills and expertise in advanced reporting techniques with an emphasis on mobile and data journalism.
The successful candidate should be willing to expand upon his or her professional or scholarly work and take a leadership position in our undergraduate journalism program while teaching two or three professional courses per semester.
Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
