The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Engineering Technology Department held the Regional Bridge Building Contest for area high school students on February 19, 2020. Students participated from the following schools: Buckeye Career Center, Dover High School, Garaway High School, Indian Valley High School, New Philadelphia High School, Strasburg High School, Tuscarawas Valley High School and Union Local High School.
Nearly 250 bridges were submitted with 196 students participating. All students were given a participation award. In addition, the first- and second-place winners will be given the opportunity to compete in the International Contest to be held in Chicago, IL.
The first place award went to Matthew Pfeiffer from New Philadelphia High School and second place was awarded to Carter Zeedyk from Dover High School.
