Kent State Tuscarawas Bowlers Receive Recognition

Two Kent State Tuscarawas bowlers were recognized with awards from the Ohio Bowling Conference (OBC).

For the second time in as many years, Golden Eagles bowlers received awards at the OBC presentation held at the end of the school year, as Makenna Wimer and Ashlee Burns (pictured left and right, respectively) both received recognition.

Wimer received the OBC Championship Character Award that is given to a bowler who goes above and beyond for her team and shows exemplary attitude and sportsmanship during the season. She also received a congratulatory proclamation from the Ohio House of Representatives sponsored by Brett Hillyer House District 98 representative. Burns was the recipient of the OBC Newcomer Award that is presented to a first-year bowler whose participation had a huge impact on her team's success. She also received a 2021-2022 Collegiate Scholar Athlete award from the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association.

The Golden Eagles bowling team is coached by Vera Fox.
