Kent State Tuscarawas Engineering Technology Department Regional Bridge Building Contest Winners Announced

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Engineering Technology Department held the Regional Bridge Building Contest for area high school students on February 24, 2022. Students participated from the following schools: Buckeye Career Center, Conotton Valley, Dover High School, Garaway High School, Indian Valley High School, New Philadelphia High School, Strasburg High School, Tuscarawas Valley High School, and Union Local High School.  

Over 240 bridges were submitted with 172 students participating. In addition, the first, second and third-place winners will be given the opportunity to compete in the International Contest to be held in Covington Township, PA. A Regional Contest may send a third contestant to the International Contest provided the first and second place winners are from the same High School and the third contestant is from a different High School than the top two finishers.

The first-place award went to Brady Miller from Dover High School; second-place was awarded to Ryan Nixon from Dover High School; and third place was awarded to Matthew Pfeiffer from New Philadelphia High School.
