For Kent State University at Tuscarawas students, the future is now! You can make a difference for local students by joining the Tuscarawas County University Foundation as it launches the 2020 impact campaign For the Future.
Beginning this month, the community can make the future forever brighter for Kent State Tuscarawas students by supporting local education. Sally O’Donnell, retired from First Federal Community Bank and university trustee and foundation board member, and Kurt Shelley, of FabOhio and university foundation board member, will lead this year’s campaign.
“Importantly, your generosity can provide an excellent, affordable experience for our students through the For the Future Founders Fund, which supports scholarships and student success,” said Kent State Tuscarawas Director of Advancement Chad Conrad.
“I have never been so fortunate,” said Troy Poole, a second-year nursing student and scholarship recipient. “It made such a huge difference in our personal and family experience by being able to come to campus and not just having to worry about the financial difficulties of going to school.”
Troy embraces the unbounded possibilities of Kent State Tuscarawas. Local proximity, affordability and scholarships have made all the difference for him.
Troy is one of many deserving Kent State Tuscarawas students who earn much-needed scholarships to pursue local education for future careers. Vital scholarships through our campus Tuscarawas County University Foundation have been a blessing for Troy and several others.
According to Kent State Tuscarawas Dean Brad Bielski, “We are pleased to have students who are so dedicated to their educations and futures; they are going to impact the world! We encourage the community to be part of that journey and support the Foundation’s impact fund to assist us in providing essential scholarships and modern campus learning resources.”
The Foundation was created in 1968 to sustain and advance a high standard of education and excellence at Kent State Tuscarawas. Funds raised through the campaign are used for student scholarships and student initiatives, as well as providing excellent educational facilities and equipment.
“We are asking the community to help us support our hardworking students by making gifts to our For the Future Founders Fund benefiting scholarships and student services,” said Conrad. “Individuals like Troy are an example of the types of students who receive much needed scholarships through our campus foundation.”
