KSU Tuscarawas Volleyball Earns #2 Overall Seed

The Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles volleyball team is flying high again this season, earning the #2 overall seed in the upcoming United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Volleyball Championships held at Uniontown, PA. The team is coming off a second-place finish in last year’s tournament.

The team is coming off a second-place finish in last year’s tournament.

The Golden Eagles are under the leadership of third-year head coach Cortney Goodwin and assistant coach Steve Colpus. Team members and their majors, awards and regular season stats are as follows:

Taiyah Johnson, Associate of Science

  • All-Tournament Team
  • 21st in kills
  • 29th in skills per set
  • 20th in total attacks

Cayla Shrimplin, Nursing

  • 2nd Team All-American
  • 28th in service aces
  • 6th in digs
  • 6th in digs per set
  • 6th in receptions

Lizzy Keller, Early Childhood Education

  • Academic All American, 3.840 GPA
  • Second Team All American
  • 18th in kills

Makenzie Ailes, General Studies

The Golden Eagles are set to play in Pool Play on November 7th at 2:30 p.m. vs Penn State Hazleton and again at 7:30 p.m. vs Paul Smith's College. Tickets will be sold online and at the gate.
