Steve Schillig, Kent State University at Tuscarawas SBDC director, was recently recognized by theTuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce as the Volunteer of the Year. Schillig volunteers his time to serve on several business and education-related boards in the area which benefit residents and businesses in Tuscarawas County. The Chamber Volunteer Award is one of the premier awards given by the Chamber annually. Schillig has also been recognized by the State of Ohio as Director of the Year. The SBDC is a past recipient of the Chamber's Organization of the Year.
