Yoga instructor Sarah DiFazio is the featured speaker for the final installment of the 2019–2020 Women’s Success Series on Friday, April 3. The event is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kent State University at Tuscarawas in the Science and Advanced Technology Center. Cost to attend is $15 when paid in advance and $20 at the door. The fee includes a continental breakfast.
DiFazio has dedicated the last five years to sharing her passion for yoga with her community. Growing up in New Philadelphia, she graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in business finance. A professional opportunity took her to Boston, where she met her husband. Over the next 10 years, they moved to Chicago, Columbus, Louisville, and finally landed back in Dover. During these transitions, DiFazio realized that finance was not her calling.
After the birth of her first son, a rare autoimmune disease left her blind. Thankfully, the majority of her sight was recovered over time. This experience initiated her exploration into wellness modalities. After years of trial and error, she discovered yoga and was in awe of the strength, balance, peace and clarity it cultivated and knew she had found her true calling.
Sarah is a registered E-500 RYT with the Yoga Alliance. She will forever be a student of yoga and is always excited to share her practice. Sarah and her husband, Egidio, live in Dover with their two boys and four dogs.
This session also includes networking opportunities and a book discussion, featuring Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis.
The Women’s Success Series brings together women of all ages who seek better lives, professionally and personally. The series, in its ninth year, is intended to be a catalyst for women to think differently about success, about themselves and about how they live, work and play in Tuscarawas County. The 2019-2020 Women’s Success Series previously featured Carmel Haueter, executive director of Rainbow Connection, in November and Dee Grossman, executive director of the Tuscarawas County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in February.
“Each year, we choose three dynamic women to share their own success stories and provide inspiration and a positive impact on our audience,” said Wendy Zucal, director of Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and one of the Women’s Success Series founding members. “In doing so, they inspire our audience to move forward in their own lives and careers. Our audience is an interesting mix of women of all ages and from all walks of life, which results in motivating and thoughtful discussions. Everyone encourages each other and learns something new during the program.”
The Women’s Success Series is sponsored by Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and Kent State Tuscarawas in collaboration with Carlene Farms, Tuscarawas County Public Library System and the Tuscarawas Economic Development Corporation.
Other organizations contributing to the Women’s Success Series are: Claymont Health and Rehabilitation; Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital; Dominion Energy; First Federal Community Bank; First National Bank of Dennison; Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District; Rodriguez’s House of Stones; Trinity Hospital Twin City; Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce; and What’s Cooking Café.
In addition to Zucal, planning committee members include Adria Bergeron from Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, Debbie Ellwood from Kent State Tuscarawas, Connie Finton from Carlene Farms and Michelle McMorrow Ramsell from the Tuscarawas County Public Library System.
