The Kent State University Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center host a Spring commencement and pinning ceremony each May.

COMMENCEMENT FAQS

Is there a December Commencement Ceremony for the Geauga Campus and Twinsburg Academic Center?

No. The only commencement ceremony the Geauga Campus and Twinsburg Academic Center hosts is in May.

I was invited to Commencement Ceremonies at more than one campus. Can I attend more than one?

Yes. We have many students attend the Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center commencement on Friday and the Kent Campus commencement on Saturday.

I want to walk in the Geauga Campus Commencement Ceremony, but I didn’t get an invitation. What should I do?

Please visit the Geauga Campus Commencement page and complete the RSVP survey as soon as possible.  Contact ksug-graduate@kent.edu to check that your RSVP was received. 

When will I receive my invitation to the Geauga Campus and Twinsburg Academic Center Commencement Ceremony?

Expect the initial invitation towards the end of February. There will be several reminder emails sent following if you didn’t complete the RSVP.

Will my Commencement invitation be mailed to me?

No. All commencement invitations are sent via your Kent State email.

How do I get my regalia for Commencement?

You can buy it directly from the Kent Campus Bookstore by calling 330-672-2762.

We will have regalia pick-up date at each location toward the end of April. Regalia can be ordered using the RSVP link and picked up and paid for on the designated day.

 

If I want to walk in the Kent Campus Commencement Ceremony, is transportation to and from Kent provided for me?

No. Transportation is not provided from our campus to the Kent Campus.

Do I have to walk in Commencement to receive my diploma?

No.

When will I receive my diploma?

Diplomas are mailed directly to the mailing address on file for each student. You can expect to receive your diploma 6 - 8 weeks after graduation.

GRADUATION FAQS

Did you receive my application for graduation?

If you applied for graduation through the “Apply for Graduation” link in the Graduation tab of FlashLine:

  • You can check the status of your application by selecting on the View Submitted Graduation Application link in the Graduation tab of FlashLine.

If you completed the “Late and Reapplication for Graduation Form” and returned it to our campus:

  • You can check the status of your application by selecting on the View Submitted Graduation Application link in the Graduation tab of FlashLine.
  • If there is no status available through the “View Submitted Graduation Application” link, please email ksug-graduate@kent.edu and we will be happy to investigate the situation for you.
     
When I look at the “View Submitted Graduation Application” link in FlashLine, it says “Active Application.” What does that mean?
  • Active Application in FlashLine means that we have received your application for graduation and that your file is being reviewed by our advisors.
  • If your file review finds that you have not met the requirements for graduation, you will receive an email from our advising office alerting you to this issue.
  • In this case, no news is good news.
     

 

What happens if I don’t meet graduation requirements this semester?

You can reapply to graduate in the term in which you will complete your degree requirements. In this case, you will need to complete the Late and Reapplication for Graduation Form in the Graduation tab of FlashLine and return it to our campus.

I forgot to apply for graduation. Is it too late?

Probably not. Please complete the Late and Reapplication for Graduation in the Graduation tab of FlashLine and return it to our campus as soon as possible. If it is not possible for us to process your application, you will receive an email from our advising office.
