American Sign Language Living Learning Community

The American Sign Language Living Learning Community (ASL-LLC) is located in Manchester Hall.  This community is open to all students who want to live in an inclusive, welcoming environment with an interest in ASL and the d/Deaf community.  We also welcome students who have d/Deaf family members or are interested in immersing themselves using ASL.  Most ASL skills are learned by using the language, so what better way to learn it than to LIVE it?  Kent State University has three majors and one minor that directly relate to ASL so this is also a great way to network naturally and with a community you love being a part of.

HOW DO I JOIN?

To join, students new to Kent State housing will select the ASL-LLC and Manchester Hall as their first choice on their housing application. Students must also complete the ASL-LLC interest survey.

Students who have already submitted a residence hall application and wish to change to ASL LLC may logon to the housing website to change the information on their application. University Housing will try its best to accommodate all room requests, but we cannot guarantee that each request will be honored.
