Some people like to really think things through, consider all the possibilities of what might happen and then make plans to prevent any issues. If you’re that kind of person, you might be able to help protect individuals and companies from cybercrime by designing and maintaining hack-proof cybersecurity systems.

ABOUT THIS MAJOR

This program prepares future cybersecurity engineers for successful careers by providing a working knowledge of the systems organizations use to ensure the security of their day-to-day operations. Students learn about software systems and how to work within multidisciplinary teams, like those they would encounter in the business environment. They learn how to make important decisions to minimize risk and ensure security while staying ahead of possible threats.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO

Graduates of this program will be able to design and implement security architecture, analyze cyber threats, perform forensic analysis and look for weaknesses in software design, systems and networks. Their primary focus will be building the systems that protect data while solving problems as they detect and address security incidents.
