Nursing Simulation Labs

The Stark Campus has a dedicated Science & Nursing Building.

The nursing simulation labs at Kent State Stark are state-of-the-art facilities in which students learn and practice nursing skills and procedures. Many nursing courses have a lab component for learning skills necessary for clinical experiences. Repeated practice of these skills in the lab setting assures competent, safe nursing care.

Real-life situations are simulated by using Sim-Man, a computerized mannequin with 'life-like' features. Simulation experiences are incorporated into most all of the nursing courses. An Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing simulation course has been developed to give students additional opportunities to enhance clinical skills.

Mandatory learning and practice lab sessions are part of many nursing courses. The lab is also available for practice and resources throughout the nursing program.
