Kent State Hosts Free Big Dream Gathering on Nov. 29

Kent State University is hosting a Big Dream Gathering on Nov. 29, and everyone is invited – Kent State students, faculty, staff and people in the surrounding community. These Big Dream Gathering events have been taking place around the country, and they provide a fun, safe and encouraging environment for people to think about their big dreams and ideas, write them down and then get help to make those dreams a reality. The event is free and open to the public.

Kent State’s event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. Doors open at 6 p.m. The first 150 people to register will receive a copy of the best-selling book “Ignite” by Mitch Matthews, the Big Dream Gathering co-founder.

“Some people come knowing exactly what their goals are, but most people come to figure that out,” Matthews said.

The Big Dream Gathering got its start in Matthews’ home in West Des Moines, Iowa, in 2006, but now he travels around the country facilitating these inspiring events. Recently, Matthews has led Big Dream Gatherings at the University of Wisconsin, Purdue University, Truman State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa.

Matthews will deliver a keynote address to kick off the event. He will share four key strategies for getting clear on your goals and building a plan to achieve them. Then everyone will have the chance to post some dreams of their own and encourage other dreamers, too.

The event concludes at 8 p.m., followed by an informal networking after party. For event details, visit www.kent.edu/bdg.
