Join us for the first Lunch and Learn at Heer Hall, the new location of the Division of Human Resources. Are you looking for the most efficient way to use your valuable free time to burn calories and squeeze in a good workout? On May 8 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Heer Hall large conference room, Ben Cope, fitness coordinator with the Department of Recreational Services, will present “Get In, Get Out and Get Going!”
This lunch-time presentation will teach you the fundamentals of interval training – the fastest way to burn calories. We all know how hard it is to make time for the gym, yet some of these workouts can be performed within the walls of your own home and do not require equipment. You will learn safe and easy workouts that are sure to leave you feeling energized and ready to conquer the rest of the day.
Cope holds a B.S. in exercise science and is certified in spinning, group aerobics and personal training. As fitness coordinator, he oversees all fitness programs, including personal training. Cope also serves as adjunct faculty with the university, teaching lifetime fitness courses.
The Lunch and Learn programs are sponsored by the Division of Human Resources and are held in conjunction with Impact, the university’s employee assistance program. The hour-long programs are free and open to faculty and staff. However, seating is limited and reservations are required. Employees will have the opportunity to purchase pre-packaged healthy lunches to enjoy during the presentation. If you would like to order a lunch, you must do so before Monday, May 6.
