Julian Bond, an iconic figure from the 1960s civil rights movement, has passed away. He was 75.
Bond will be remembered as a champion of equal rights who dedicated his life to justice and peace.
Kent State University had the honor of Bond serving as the keynote speaker at Kent State’s 13th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration back in January.

The New York Times reports that Bond passed away at his home in Fort Walton Beach, FLa. from complications of vascular disease.
