Current Kent State students had a chance to relive what many of their parents did at the same age -- roller skate! More than 400 students donned skates Sept. 26 for a throwback night at the Kent Student Center.
A special 40-by-80-foot rink was constructed inside the ballroom as part of Flashbash, organized by the Flash Activities Board.
Students who attended received navy Kent State bucket hats to wear to the homecoming football game, as part of a collaboration between the Flash Activities Board and Undergraduate Student Government to promote Homecoming Week.
Organizers say the idea for the skating rink was inspired by the theme of homecoming week, "Milestones and Memories," and students were encouraged to stick around and create 'memories' with each other.
