Once again, Kent State University shines in the new U.S. News & World Report 2022 Best Colleges rankings.
U.S. News has again named Kent State among the Top Public Schools in the nation in the newly released rankings. Kent State ranks No. 107 among public institutions in the nation and is the highest-ranked public university in northern Ohio on the list. The university improved its ranking, moving up two spots compared to last year.
“I am delighted these rankings further demonstrate what we already know: Kent State is a top public school and one of the best national universities,” said Kent State President Todd Diacon. “I would like to thank our amazing faculty and staff whose dedication to student success and focus on helping our students reach their goals are reflected in these recognitions.”
Kent State is also included in new 2022 rankings in the latest edition of Best Colleges. Kent State ranks No. 103 among national public institutions on the Top Performers on Social Mobility list, which measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants.
In the inaugural Best Undergraduate Nursing Programs list, a brand-new ranking introduced this year, Kent State is the highest-ranked public school in northern Ohio and comes in at No. 110 among public institutions in the nation.
Kent State also ranks No. 117 among national public institutions on the Best Undergraduate Business Programs list, making it the highest-ranked public school in Northeast Ohio.
Kent State is the highest-ranked public school in northern Ohio on the Best Undergraduate Computer Science Programs list and lands at No. 145 among the country’s public institutions.
Kent State is also included on the Best National Universities list in the coveted top tier, moving up four spots to now place at No. 213 among all national public and private institutions. Kent State is one of only six Ohio public universities on this prestigious list and is the highest-ranked public university in northern Ohio on the Best National Universities list. According to the U.S. Department of Education, there are nearly 2,700 four-year colleges and universities in the country, and among those, about 770 are public institutions.
