Kent State University students, employees, alumni, donors and community members gathered on Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) to cheer on the Golden Flashes as Kent State Athletics launched its new branding and a whole new gameday experience.
The new gameday activities and additions were unveiled at the Kent State men’s and women’s basketball games. The men’s basketball team rolled to an 85-61 win over Toledo. The women’s basketball team beat Toledo 70-60, their first win against the Rockets since 2010.
The goal was to pack the MACC with Golden Flash fans for this historic day, which also included a special celebration with President Beverly Warren. The pre-game countdown began with fellow Golden Flash fans on Jan. 19 at the FLASH Rally in the Kent Student Center Lobby, with food, music and much more.
