The Kent State University alumni family will grow by more than 1,200 new graduates as the university holds its summer commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2022 will be recognized with in-person, outdoor commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony on Aug. 20. In total, 1,269 degrees will be conferred this summer, consisting of 206 associate degrees, 632 bachelor’s degrees, 368 master’s degrees, 60 doctoral degrees and three educational specialist degrees.
More than 600 of the graduating students have confirmed their participation in the in-person commencement ceremonies.
During the in-person and virtual commencement ceremonies, graduating students will hear from Kent State President Todd Diacon and Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. Graduating students will also receive individual name recognition and participate in the conferral of degrees and tassel turning ceremony.
The outdoor ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on the Kent Campus will be held at Manchester Field, which is the large green space between the Kent Student Center and Eastway Center.
