University Statement Regarding Events in Eastern Europe

Kent State University enrolls citizens from both Ukraine and Russia. In addition, staff and professors from both nations are employed on our campuses. In the spirit of our commitment to global education and understanding, and consistent with our university’s core values, we encourage everyone to treat all members of our community with kindness and respect during this moment of world tension and strife.

We recognize that these times may cause significant stress and diminished mental well-being for members of our Kent State community. Those who are struggling, please know that you are not alone. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) can be reached by calling 330-672-2487 and is available for students who need support. For employees, our university Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 1-800-227-6007.

Students from Russia and Ukraine should contact the Office of Global Education at 330-672-7980 with any concerns. Employees with questions and concerns should contact the Division of Human Resources at 330-672-2100.

As a university dedicated to international study and peaceful understanding, please keep those in our community who are impacted by the events in Eastern Europe in your thoughts and prayers, and please do what you can to provide comfort and support during these tense times.
