Police Academy cadets

Kent State University’s most recent day class of Police Academy cadets collectively passed the State of Ohio Physical Fitness Assessment and written test. All ten cadets, formally known as BAS 21-054, passed with an average of 88%.

“I am proud of the way they have worked in and out of the classroom,” said Jim Willock, Kent State Trumbull’s Director of the Public Safety and Police Academy program. “Our goal is to prepare these cadets not only for the tests but for long and purposeful careers in law enforcement."

The physical assessment consists of push-ups, sit-ups, and a mile and a half run. The written exam consists of 200 questions and requires a 70% or higher for passage. Both are timed.

The cadets will be celebrated at Kent State Trumbull's Spring Commencement on Friday, May 13. New classes begin in August.

There are a few openings for the day and night classes this fall at Kent and Trumbull campuses. For more information, visit www.kent.edu/policeacademy or call 330-675-7666 or email policeacademy@kent.edu.
