Kent State University at Ashtabula concluded the Spring 2016 Semester and the 2015-16 academic year by holding the campus's 64th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 13, 2016, in the Main Hall Gymnasium. During the exercises, nearly 100 students received their degrees while distinguished members of the Kent State and Ashtabula communities were be recognized for their professional and civic contributions. William H. "Bud" Hill received the 2016 Ashtabula Area College Committee, Inc. Community Service Award while Patrick Colucci was the recipient of the Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award.
Sharlene Ramos-Chesnes, Kent State University's President's Ambassador, served as the keynote speaker. Bachelor’s degree recipient Corey Smith delivered a heartfelt and uplifting student address.
