NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH

Nursing

Ashtabula Nursing Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated financial need

Cooper Nursing Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6 
  • Completion of first year of Nursing ADN program with declaration of intent to enroll in the RN to BSN program

Patsy Hurst Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6
  • Second semester Nursing ADN student
  • 40+ years of age
  • Demonstration of compassion for others and genuine love of nursing
  • Complete at least one semester in the Nursing ADN program

Kondru Family Kent State Ashtabula Nursing Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.8
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6
  • Preference given to Ashtabula County residents
  • Must be enrolled in the Kent State University at Ashtabula Nursing Program

The Jacqueline Maylish Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Completed at least one semester in the Nursing ADN program

The Margaret S. Peterson Scholarship for Nursing

Requirements:

  • A graduate of one of the last three graduating classes of Conneaut High School
  • Admitted into the Nursing program at Kent State Ashtabula
  • Recipients must be recommended by a KSUA nursing faculty member and be able to demonstrate a record of academic success.

Pat C. and Mary M. Rich Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 3
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 12
  • Students in a pre-licensure Nursing degree program at the Ashtabula Campus
  • Students should be former or current Ashtabula County high school graduates

Susan J. Stocker Nursing Scholarship

Requirements:

  • GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Major: Associate of Applied Science in Nursing
  • College or Campus: Ashtabula
  • Enrollment: Minimum of 6 credits in award semester
  • In their 3rd or 4th semester of the nursing program
  • Other: Demonstrated leadership in Student Nurse Association, the local community or clinical settings
  • Renewable: Yes

Louise M. Vecchione Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Nursing ADN student in the last semester of the nursing program
  • Student who exhibits determination, compassion and a genuine love of nursing

Radiologic Technology

Susan Rizzo-Noles Radiology Technology Endowed Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 12
  • Second-year Radiologic Technology student
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, enthusiasm for learning and the potential to contribute to the profession as evidenced by the scholarship application. 

Radiologic Technology Alumni Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 2.75
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Second-year Radiologic Technology student

Respiratory Technology

National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Scholarships

Requirements:

  • Specific course of study: Respiratory Care / Respiratory Therapy
  • Required GPA: 2.0
  • Enrollment status: Full or part-time

General Nursing and Allied Health

Jah'Life Ali & Elena Marquetti-Ali Scholarship

Requirements:

  • 2.8 or higher GPA
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6
  • Must be enrolled in Business or Allied Health programs at Kent State University at Ashtabula
  • Preference given to minority students

The Philip C. and Mary Lou Herbert Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6
  • Allied Health degree programs, Science related degree, or beginning a Chemistry or Biology major
  • Completed at least one (1) semester at Kent State Ashtabula

The Robert and Gloria McCarthy Fund

Requirements:

  • Preference to first generation college student and/or from underrepresented student populations
  • Health Care, Science, or Technology related degree

The United Way of Ashtabula County Scholarship

Requirements: 

  • Minimum GPA: 3.25
  • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 10 for fall and spring
  • Permanent resident of Ashtabula County
  • Sophomore, junior or senior status
  • Health Care, Education, or Human Services related degree

    James W. Wentling Memorial Scholarship

    Viticulture/Enology

    Dr. Kent Glaus Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Student must be enrolled in the Viticulture or Enology programs at Kent State Ashtabula.

    Ashtabula County Retired Teachers Association Endowed Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Minimum GPA: 3.0
    • Minimum Credit Hours at the Ashtabula campus: 6

    Serene C. Farmer Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    Requirements: 

    • Minimum GPA: 2.75

    • Preference Given to BA English students

    • Enrolled in last year of declared associate or bachelor's degree as evidenced by a graduation evaluation or submission of application for graduation

    The Judge Marianne Sezon Groundbreaker Award Honoring Judge Florence Allen, Mary E. Pierce, Susan M. Rebhan, and Bertha A. Miller

    Requirements:

    • Minimum GPA:  2.5
    • Student who is female, identifies as female, or a male student committed to the empowerment of women
    • First generation college student attending Kent State Ashtabula
    • Preference given to students majoring in criminal justice or interested in a career in education, law, or otherwise engaged in social justice.
